Product description

With the high-quality DOLLE CLEAN balustrade kit made of aluminium, you can design a variety of balustrade for patios, stairs, balconies or parapets - optionally for side mounting as well as for floor mounting.

The complete set is 150 cm long and can be shortened but also extended so you can quickly and easily attach additional sets at any time. The filling consists of stainless-steel rods.

For mounting on wood hexagon bolts are included. For mounting on concrete separately available heavy-duty anchors are required. For a straight extension, the necessary fasteners are already included in each set. Optional corner kit is available with corner connection set which enables individual construction in corner situations.

For the assembly you need the following tools and aids: a drill, a hex wrench, a spirit level and 2-component adhesive. To cut the stainless-steel bars. You need a metal saw with a saw blade suitable for stainless steel.


IMPORTANT:

Make sure that the parts do not meet iron or steel. If metal dust is deposited on the surface, this can lead to rusting in the outside area. Please do not use saw blades that were previously treated with steel.


Consists of:

2 aluminium posts

1 handrail made of aluminium 1.5 m

5 stainless steel rods – banister filling 1.5 m

Hexagon screws for fixing the posts to wood

End caps for handrail and stainless-steel bars

Connector for handrail and stainless-steel rods for extension with further sets (straight)


The mounting instructions specify the appropriate type of fastener for different substrates - we recommend two different solutions:

M10 mm expansion bolts, at least 65 mm long

Ø10 mm lag screws, at least 60 mm long, along with Ø12 mm wall plugs for concrete (without wall plugs when mounting in wood).

Good product at a very reasonable price
I utilised a Clean Alu Kit for a handrail down 3 steps in the garden. This proved to be considerably cheaper than quotes received from handrail sources. The only difference being that the quotes received were for all stainless steel BUT only consisted of 2 posts and a handrail. This kit incudes 5 stainless steel crossrails which easily offsets that difference. Aluminium posts and handrail were more than adequate for my needs.The kit comes complete with all fittings. It is on the aspect of fittings that I only ratrd this 4 rather than 5 stars. The ground anchors supplied are of the plastic "rawlplug " type together with a hex headed coach screw type fixing.The coach screws are fine but I feel heavier duty plastic fittings should be supplied to better accommodate these heavy duty screws. I did use the ones supplied because there was no height involved to speak of but should I use this system for a balastrade I would get some better quality plastic anchors. The hex headed screws come with a silver finish which gets marked with the spanner or socket used for tightening. I think some touch up paint should be available as an option to buy if not initially supplied with the kit. I actually bought for little extra cost some plastic car wheel nut covers in a light grey which solved the problem and I think look more finished off anyway. Again these could be supplied or available as option to buy. The final comment on the fittings is the plastic inserts supplied to close off the ends of the stainless steel rails. Because I was adapting this kit I needed to cut these rails shorter and wanted to cap off the ends to make them more weatherproof. Again I got some light grey plastic end caps for little cost which not only did the job but I feel look more "finished off". My preference would be that such end caps are supplied as standard rather than the inserts.
Hope this is of interest to anyone considering this kit and I would certainly recommend same. My personal views are intended to help rather than hinder anyone looking to buy and perhaps to Dolle also.
